How to choose the right charger for your forklift lithium battery?

Type of charger

There are two types of charger: constant voltage (CV) chargers and constant current (CC) chargers. CV chargers usually work at a constant voltage level, while CC chargers vary their output current based on the battery's state of charge (SoC).


To optimize charging and battery performance, we shall go for CC charger with integrated CAN-BUS communication with BMS.


Capacity of charger

Quick Charge is one of the key features of EKT Lithium battery, in order to inject power as much as possible within certain time-frame, we usually need high power charger at 0.5C of battery pack's capacity, for example : 6KW charger for a 12KWH battery Pack.


Input and Output Voltage

Output Voltage, your charger should have an output voltage range that matches your battery's voltage. For example, if you're using a 12-volt charger for 6-volt batteries, it won't work properly and may even damage your battery.


Input Voltage, in many countries, industrial grid power supply is 380Vac 3-Phase, however, there are different input in several specific regions with 220Vac 3-Phase, 480Vac 3-Phase, we need to ensure the input voltage specs does match your power supply.

Some chargers come with accessories like wall adapters, power cords, and carrying cases to make them easier to use.
